Autumn time brings beautiful sunsets, which brings colourful skies which is characteristic for our country. Therefor me & my photoclub, met up one early evening to stroll past the Spaarne ( the canal which runs through Haarlem) and to capture our city by dusk. We were extremely lucky with the very calm weather.
I can’t believe the result of the photos, after I loaded them on my laptop. Just some light editing was the only thing I had to do.
This is ” the Koepel” the now closed prison of Haarlem, photo taken in the reflection of a puddle
The “Molen Adriaan” has a great place along the Spaarne; right next to the mill there is a restaurant where you can enjoy the view and the douzens of boats floating by in summer. I have editited this photo so that it has a more, “17th century painting” feeling, to it.
All along the Spaarne, there are these bridges, for pedestrians and bicycles, specials Guards, cycles from bridge to bridge, to open these when boats need to drive past. Right when I was there photographing, this bridge opened to let a boat through, using my tripod & a shutterspeed of about 20 secs, I created this effect of light streaks.
